20 years of esseboats: an anniversary of superlatives!

The esseboats anniversary regatta was undoubtedly a first-class event. With perfect conditions, outstanding race management and a phenomenal atmosphere, the two regatta days offered sailing pleasure at its best. In ideal esseboats conditions with two to four Beaufort and under a bright blue sky, the six planned races were completed smoothly.
The well-known "Rosenwind" set in as early as the skippers' meeting, so that the 24 boats were able to set sail straight away. Three races were held in three Beaufort winds. Over a beer afterwards, the sailors had a lively exchange of regatta tactics and discussed the different types of boats that were represented. From Esse 750 to Esse 330, all five types of Esseboats were represented.
On Saturday, the first race started at 11:00 am. Although the wind was a little lighter, the Esseboats fleet was able to demonstrate its light wind qualities in two wind forces. Once again, three races were sailed. Thanks to the efficient race management, the wind was used optimally.
After the races, there was enough time to prepare for the evening program. The around 100 guests enjoyed an aperitif in the picturesque harbor of Rapperswil to the smooth sound of guitars and were treated to a delicious paella after the prize-giving ceremony.
The atmosphere was simply fantastic, and the esseboats family was able to celebrate their anniversary in the best weather and in beautiful surroundings.
Amedeo Vaccani won the regatta on his esse 990 ahead of Nicola Fuso and Pierre Moerch in third place.
Overall, the event was a complete success and will certainly go down as an unforgettable highlight in the history of esseboats.
