Esseboats celebrates 15 years of sailing fun

Fast, elegant, and extremely easy to sail: Esseboats’ magnificent yachts have been inspiring sailing enthusiasts for 15 years. A new yacht will be launched for this years anniversary.
In 2004, Swiss yacht builder Josef Schuchter developed the Esse 850 in collaboration with the Italian designer Umberto Felci. Josef Schuchter‘s concept: a sporty boat with above-average sailing characteristics and particularly easy handling. The Esse 850 immediately became a great international success. There are now five different models in the Esseboats family - and another boat will be launched for this year‘s anniversary:the Esse 330.
The Esseboats yachts of Schuchter Sportboot AG in Stäfa on Lake Zurich are characterised by perfect functionality and high-quality equipment. The Esse 850 is suitable for a wide range of wind and wave conditions which has seen it receive several international awards.
Schuchter Sportboot AG continued the successful concept of the Esse 850 and developed further unique sailing boats: the Esse 990 and the Esse 750. These boats combine sporty sailing with easy handling.
For both the Esse 850 and the Esse 750, active regatta classes have established themselves and there are attractive events in Monaco, Lake Maggiore, Lake Geneva, Lake Garda, Lake Zurich and St. Moritz to name but a few. The Esse 990 also achieved international regatta success: in March 2019, the Esse 990 „Fresh Pineapple“ won the „St. Petersburg to Havana“ regatta from Florida to Cuba.
For Josef Schuchter, the most important thing is to enjoy sailing in a relaxed and sporty way: “Our goal right from the very beginning was to build boats that do really sail even in light winds - and which are easy to handle both with a small crew or on their own“.
To date, the family of Esseboats has five members: the Esse 750, Esse 850, Esse 850L, Esse 850LE and the Esse 990. The Esse 330 will be added and launched in 2019.
The Esse 330, which is 10 metres long and 2.55 metres wide, is designed as a weekend cruiser. The boat features an inviting and very bright interior in addition to enough space to spend a relaxing weekend. The new yacht remains true to the long, slim and elegant shape of Esseboats. With a weight of 2.3 tons and a draught of 1.9 metres, the Esse 330 is also in tune with the sailing characteristics of other Esseboats yachts.
