A successful season comes to an end

On 7./8. of October 2017, the last official Esseboats event of this season took place in Thalwil as a joint regatta of the Esse 850 and Esse 750 International Class. Five Esse 750 teams and 13 Esse 850 teams from Switzerland sailed very enjoyable races in front of a spectacular setting (Photo: Segler-Vereinigung Thalwil).
Despite light winds throughout both days on the water a sizeable total of 5 races could be sailed by all classes. An impressive series of 5 straight bullets of the SUI 025 with Florian Haufe was obviously rewarded with the overall victory of the Esse 750 Thalwil Cup 2017. The SUI 033 with Esse-Mastermind Josef Schuchter finished the regatta in second place (8 points), followed by the SUI 024 with Wladimir Leuenberger in third (12 points).
The Esse 850 team «Aspra» with Urs Oldani deservedly took the victory of the Esse 850 Thalwil Cup 2017 with a bullet on Saturday and another on Sunday, showing a very strong consistency in rather tricky conditions. Only one point behind, the team «Ottocinque Due» with Alain Marchand finished the regatta in second place, followed by team «Zebrabox» with Julien Monnier in third. Due to their second place at the Thalwil Cup, team «Ottocinque Due» of the SUI 172 managed to recapture the trophy of the Esse 850 IC Cup total ranking in an utterly impressive manner for the 7th time.
Time to thank the organizing committee for hosting and pampering the Thalwil Cup 2017. Time also to thank all of the participating teams at official Esse 750 and Esse 850 events of this year.
